“The laziest and sexiest band in history” NME
Following our first album, ‘Cadaquez’, which explored our love of 60’s film score music, Marden Hill were one of the first bands on the scene with the Acid Jazz, Trip Hop, Big Beat and Break Beat genres.
The original line up included Charlie Phillips on keyboards who was replaced when he left by Chris Bemand. The other members were Pete Moss, Mark Daniels, Matt Lipsey and Ian Smith. Ashley Beedle was considered an honorary member of Marden Hill as he played an integral part of our musical direction and production.
We worked/ recorded with some other great artists including Viv Stanshall, JC001, Guy Evans, Simon Fisher Turner, Kevin Saunders, Scott Garland, Andi Oliver, Tony Wrafter.
Our singles were remixed by artists including Ashley Beedle, James Lavell, UNKLE, Black Science Orchestra, Bob Jones, Ballistic Brothers,
And we remixed various artists work including - Ballistic Brothers, 9 Lazy 9, Brand New Heavies,
Our keyboard player Chris Bemand, co-wrote ‘Clubbed to Death’ with Rob Dougan, produced DJ Krush and worked with Ashley, Rocky and Diesel on X-Press 2 - London X-Press House anthem along with a host of other great production/ remix projects.
